Help us“Make Smoking Disappear”

 Looking for a great Community Service Project?  The Rotary Club of Upper Marlboro has worked with illusionist Wayne Alan to develop an excellent Community service program called “Make Smoking Disappear”.  Cigarette smoking is a dangerous and deadly addiction, often formed in children of secondary school age.  In an effort to deter young people from starting or habitualizing this behavior, the talented magician, along with the American Cancer Society, created a fun and entertaining one-hour program, which is presented in a school setting. The Upper Marlboro area schools have been very receptive, scheduling assembly programs for the entire student body.  At each performance several hundred students may laugh and marvel at the illusions that Mr. Alan presents, but they hear a strong anti-smoking message with every “trick”.  At the end of the program, Rotarians hand out activity booklets to reinforce the concepts at home. The cost of  "Make Smoking Disappear" is $600.00 per program.
